Privacy policy for the Springer's Jewelers app

Effective date: to be set at public release.

This policy explains what the Springer's Jewelers app ("the app") collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. "Springer's", "we" and "us" mean Springer's Jewelers. The policy on springersjewelers.com continues to cover the website and our stores.

The short version

What we collect

When you sign in

You sign in with your springersjewelers.com customer account, which Shopify runs for us. The app receives your name, email address, phone number (if you gave one) and your Shopify customer number. We use them to recognize you and to connect the app to your Springer's client record.

Your Springer's history

Once your account is connected, the app shows information we already keep as your jeweler: pieces you bought from us, documents such as receipts and appraisals, repairs and their status, appointments, your advisor's name, and messages between you and the store. This information stays in our client records system; the app reads it when you open those screens.

Things you add

Pieces you add to My Collection and documents or photos you upload; wishlists, gift registries and hints; birthdays, anniversaries and other dates; ring and bracelet sizes and metal preferences; repair requests, appointment notes and messages; and interest you register in a watch.

Membership

If you join the membership program, we keep a record of points earned from purchases (in store and online) and rewards you redeem.

Your device

A push notification token, the app version and the type of device, so we can send the notifications you allow. We don't collect advertising identifiers.

Camera, photos and location

The camera is used only when you choose visual search, the ring sizer or augmented-reality try-on. A photo you search with is sent to our server, compared with our catalog using Microsoft Azure AI Vision, and not stored. Ring sizing and try-on happen on your device. Location is used only on your device, while you use the app, to show the nearest store; it isn't sent to us.

How we use it

Marketing messages are sent only with your permission, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or your device settings.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run the app, under contracts that limit how they may use it:

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Links you share

A hint or a shared wishlist creates a private web link. Anyone with the link can see the piece or list, your first name and any message you wrote. You choose who to send it to; the app never sends it for you. You can stop sharing a wishlist in the app, and hint links expire after a year.

How long we keep it

We keep app data while your app account is open. When you delete your account, we delete the app's data about you within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or warranty reasons. Purchase, repair and appraisal records that are part of our store records follow our store record-keeping practices.

Your choices and rights

Security

Information is encrypted in transit. Documents are kept in private storage and opened only through short-lived links. Access by our team is limited to people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your device protected with a passcode.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
